Biography - John Grayson

John Grayson and his wife, Liane, moved to Vermillion in the fall of 2007. They have previously lived in Evanston, IL, Adelaide, South Australia, West Lafayette, IN. and Cleveland Heights, OH. Today they are privileged to live in what many locals know as “The Cotton House,” a 1916 bungalow that enjoys status on the National Register of Historic Places. The house anchors the southeast corner of the Forest Avenue Historic District

As a reflection of his interest in architectural restoration and preservation, John devotes much of his free time to the often-delicate restoration projects demanded by the house. Some people who know him well believe this is just a ruse enabling him to accumulate more tools. Always the active learner, he enjoys comparing notes and swapping creative repair solutions with other old house homeowners.
